In the Trenches with Robin Templar Williams FSGD, APLD

Robin Templar Williams visited Oregon, Austin and Chicago to spend time with designers for a 3-day workshop and charrette. The workshops were quite a hit and Robin brought his contagious enthusiasm to all those in attendance! Some of the topics covered included

· Subtle ground patterns to reinforce motion or achieve still space
· Color to enhance the effect of dynamic space and perspective
· Creation of dynamic and static. Space with use of appropriate shapes
· Position and effect of planted structures
· Balance between mass and void
· The effects of perspective on shapes
· Achieving good positive links between separated shapes as garden elements
· Examination and analysis of single and interlinking shapes.
· Achieving good balance to proportion
